Recent Work and Biography
Debbie Gallerani will probably always have the desert in her heart. Born and raised in Palm Springs California, as well as a frequent traveler throughout the Southwest, Debbie has absorbed and captured the desert’s natural beauty and vibrant colors in her paintings. But, her artistic talents do not stop there. Debbie’s abilities are widely ranged from cartoonist, sculptor, illustrator, graphic designer, art director, design firm business and art gallery owner.
Her natural gift for creating whimsical cartoon characters through the years has allowed her work to be published in many advertising ads/campaigns, comic strips and books. Being a professional illustrator, Debbie is also able to draw a wide variety of subjects as needed in her advertising profession. She has worked in the publishing business for Palm Springs Magazine in Palm Springs, California. Starting as a production artist, then promoted to one of the top designers for the world renowned magazine. Debbie continued her passion for graphic design at Multi-Media Advertising in Palm Springs. She was hired as a designer, soon becoming the companies Senior Art Director for 4 years.
After moving to Orange County, Debbie started her own design firm, Studio West Graphics. She hired interns from Platt College, teaching students with hands-on projects. Her clients included; Del Monte Jazz Festival, Toyota, Ford, Fila, Dunlop, Darlyn Design Sportswear, Bowers Museum, Target (bicycle product packaging), Prince (musician), Barbara Feldman (actress), Gold’s Gym, and Santa Anita Race Track, to name a few. Other graphic design experience includes creating a communications department for a local church in which Debbie and her staff designed and managed advertising, programs, power points, events and more for 12 ministries.
Debbie is currently living in the beautiful foothills of the Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona, creating her art, as well as being an Airbnb host. She has participated in successful showings (past and current) for Aaron Brothers, Tustin, CA, Ojai Art in the Park, The heART of Orange County 2018& 2109 Showcase at Chemers Gallery, Las Laguna Gallery, Laguna Beach – Women in Art and Cartoons and Anime 2018, the Borrego Art Institute, Borrego Springs, CA – Summer Showcase 2018, and a featured artist for 2 years at Mystic Arts Gallery, Laguna Beach, CA. Her paintings won honorable mention in the 2017 Q2 Artist Portfolio Magazine issue 31, and select works featured in Scottsdale’s Xanadu Art Gallery’s Art Catalogue. Debbie’s paintings and sculptures are currently in the Cactus Wren Art Gallery, Tubac AZ, Cactus Wren Artisans, Tucson AZ, and The Greg Anthony Art Gallery, Taos, NM.
Publications include: “Contemporary Painters” by Danijela Kracun and Charles McFadden by Schiffer Publishing, early works featured in a coffee table book, and Illustrations for the children’s book, “Jack the Mouse” by Larry DiSimone. Original works are currently installed in private collections in various cities in Northern and Southern California, Tennessee, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Arizona, and Great Britain.
